Catherine Zeta-Jones wants to play Cleopatra in new rock musical

Actress CATHERINE ZETA-JONES is planning to return to Broadway as Cleopatra in a new rock and roll musical.

The Oscar-winning Chicago beauty won over critics and earned a Tony Award for her star turn in 2009’s A Little Night Music, and she’s currently showing off her vocal talents in the Hollywood adaptation of another Broadway show, Rock of Ages.

The new film appears to have inspired Zeta-Jones to seek out more musical roles – she is developing a stageshow about the Ancient Egyptian queen with her Traffic director Steven Soderbergh.

During an interview on U.S. talk show The View on Friday (15Jun12), she said, “I just finished a movie with Steven Soderbergh and we have an idea – actually it was for a movie – to play Cleopatra. It’s a rock and roll musical movie, but we think it would just be fantastic on Broadway.”

I’m extremely impressed with your writing skills and also with the format on your blog. Is this a paid theme or did you modify it yourself? Either way keep up the nice quality writing, it’s uncommon to see a nice weblog like this one these days..
